What is Hypnosis?
The most straightforward way to explain what is hypnosis: it is a form of relaxation therapy that makes you more susceptible to positive suggestions.
Hypnosis is a state of relaxation. During this state, the mind is open to making a change on an unconscious level. The client is always aware of what is going on and in complete control at all times.

What to expect from Hypnosis
During hypnosis, you will experience a lovely state of relaxation. Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation, a very normal and familiar feeling. You can have a feeling of trance while watching TV, looking at Instagram, driving, meditating and daydreaming. Hypnosis is very much like the feeling you have before dozing off to sleep. Although one session can be very effective to break a habit such as smoking, some issues can be resolved quickly, others can take a little time. Anywhere between 1-10 sessions depending on the issue.
The British Medical Association declared hypnosis as a form of therapy around 1958, and both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Medical Association have endorsed hypnotherapy for use by professionals.
Hypnosis is not mind-control or like what you have seen in the movies. It is not some mystical woo-woo thing. It is more like a guided meditation with a goal.
Don’t expect to feel hypnotised, just expect to feel relaxed.
Everyone experiences hypnosis in their own way and that can range from a state of full awareness to a state of deep relaxation. You are aware of what is happening at all times. You are in control at all times. Hypnosis is not something that is done to you – it is a process you are guided through. You are not asleep. You cannot be hypnotised to do something you don’t want to do. In hypnosis, you go into a state of relaxation and when relaxed we can communicate directly to the unconscious mind. Once the conscious and unconscious mind is in accordance the body responds automatically. Trance-like experiences aren’t all that uncommon. If you’ve ever zoned out while watching a movie or daydreaming.
What is the difference between self-hypnosis and meditation?
About Guided Meditation & Self-Hypnosis
Hypnosis and Meditation are very similar. They both induce extremely beneficial, deeply relaxing and calming states of mind that can help you become more positive, calm and stress-free. Both are states of relaxation, heightened focus, and concentration.
The main difference is hypnosis focuses directly on a goal to achieve positive change – such a becoming more confident, overcoming fear or anxiety, staying motivated to eat better and exercise, manage stress, sleep better or to quit smoking. Meditation, on the other hand, does not focus on a goal. In meditation, the purpose is to empty your mind and to free the mind of all thoughts.
With both hypnosis and guided meditation, you will not be asleep. You will hear everything said and will remember everything that takes place. Hypnosis works creating a very relaxed state which will allow for increased response to suggestibility. The hypnotic feeling is very similar to how you feel in the evening just prior to falling asleep.
Hypnosis is helpful for breaking bad habits, it is the glue that helps motivate you to stick to your goals. Hypnosis will allow you to make changes on a subconscious level. Through hypnosis will be able to re-program a belief you have.
Straight after your first session, you will begin to establish new thoughts and patterns that will lead you to the success that you desire and deserve. You will eliminate the old behaviours that were holding you back.
For best results, we suggest doing hypnosis for 3-4 weeks to reinforce the positive suggestions. Repetition is the key. By repeating the process over and over the positive suggestions will stay with you.

After only a few Hypnosis sessions I had incredible results, Eugenie has helped me overcome anxiety and negative thinking patterns. I now have a more confident mindset and the negative thoughts and self-doubt are gone, I am calm, I am happy, I feel strong and so positive about my future. Eugenie has a natural calming manner and was able to intuitively tap into my subconscious, she has a genuine passion for helping people to achieve their full potential. I highly recommend Eugenie to anyone who is ready and willing to help themselves and considering hypnotherapy. Lauren
My sessions with Eugenie have helped me break blockages both with unleashing my creativity and letting go of a negative relationship. Through working with Eugenie I now am about to launch my textile collection and currently in a beautiful new relationship. Eddie
I have been seeing Eugenie on a professional basis for nearly two months. Besides having support while having Cancer treatment which lasted for six of those weeks, l was hoping to change my mindset. I can highly recommend Eugenie as a counsellor and life coach & facilitator of mindfulness & hypnosis. She is a good listener and is intelligent and kind. It only took a couple of sessions for me to feel totally comfortable with her, and can say that my level of positivity & my ability to cope have improved much more than l expected, in such a short time. I will continue to see Eugenie, as I consider her to genuinely care about her clients and their well-being. Jonathan
When my cousin Eugenie told me she’d become a hypnotist I thought “oh yeah” and I humoured her by giving her a session. But as usual, life is full of surprises and strangely she was truly a great hypnotist and whilst I can’t really go into the content – I just wanted to say – if you have mental obstacles you want to navigate through – I encourage you to reach out. Smoking, addiction, job stress, marital pressure, kids, finance …. she’s good and she is not expensive and most of all – she exudes warmth and empathy.
