About Key Hypnotherapy

Our method blends together cognitive-behavioral therapy tools, hypnosis, to create long-lasting transformation.

By combining all these strategies, you can engage both the subconscious and the conscious brain, and this allows you to quickly (and almost effortlessly) shift patterns that hold you back.

Find the keys to heal, transform and set in motion your goals and aspirations through coaching, counselling, and hypnotherapy.

What to expect from Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a very normal and familiar feeling. You can have a feeling of trance while watching TV, looking at Instagram, driving, meditating and daydreaming. Hypnosis is very much like the feeling you have before dozing off to sleep. Although one session can be very effective to break a habit such as smoking, some issues can be resolved quickly, others can take a little time. Anywhere between 1-10 sessions depending on the issue.

The British Medical Association declared hypnosis as a form of therapy around 1958, and both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Medical Association have endorsed hypnotherapy for use by professionals.

Hypnosis is not mind-control or like what you have seen in the movies. It is not some mystical woo-woo thing. It is more like a guided meditation with a goal.

Don’t expect to feel hypnotised, just expect to feel relaxed.

Everyone experiences hypnosis in their own way and that can range from a state of full awareness to a state of deep relaxation.  You are aware of what is happening at all times. You are in control at all times. Hypnosis is not something that is done to you – it is a process you are guided through.  You are not asleep.

You cannot be hypnotised to do something you don’t want to do.

In hypnosis, you go into a state of relaxation and when relaxed we can communicate directly to the unconscious mind. Once the conscious and unconscious mind is in accordance the body responds automatically. Trance-like experiences aren’t all that uncommon. If you’ve ever zoned out while watching a movie or daydreaming.

Could I get stuck in a trance?

You can’t get stuck in a trance – even if you’re one of the rare people who find they can’t remember a hypnotherapy session after it finishes. Everyone comes back to consciousness at the end of the session, and most are still partially aware during the session (due to entering a light but suggestible Alpha hypnosis state).
