Who are you? Jane Baker, Wales, United Kingdom 3 kids
Tell us about what you do?
I’m a coach and strategist for service-based business owners, I was inspired to move into coaching after I had successfully built my own business, coaching and helping others do the same for their business was something I was naturally very good at, things come really easy for me particularly selling but I know that isn’t the same for everyone and so I wanted to help and inspire as many other businesses as I could to be able to achieve the success they desired.
As a working mother, how do you find calm in the chaos?
I have a daily non-negotiable to do self-care, I have a list of 25 activities that are great for my self-care and in replenishing me back up and I have a daily non-negotiable in my schedule of doing at least 3 self-care things a day. I also don’t have a long to-do list I have a short daily to-do list with no more than 5 things on it, this means I don’t get overwhelmed feeling as if I’ve got a million things to do.
What do you do to relax and unwind?
To relax and unwind I love a long bath or actually as crazy as it sounds going for a walk, going for a walk with some music really helps me switch off and unwind. It can be really difficult to relax in the house unless the kids are in bed but then I’ve got the dogs and cat and sometimes it can be just as noisy, but I also like switching off to Netflix.
What has been your greatest achievement to date?
My greatest achievement to date is building the business and life I have. I left school without any qualifications and I come from an area where success isn’t the normal, I’ve been able to build a really successful business that also makes a difference to peoples lives and as a result of my success I’ve been able to create a life for my kids and family that’s a lot different from my childhood. We travel all the time and we’re currently in the process of organising our dream move abroad in 2019 and I’ll forever be grateful for all I’ve achieved and will continue to achieve. If I had to be really specific I recently made the top 100 F: Entrepreneurs in the UK and that was a wow moment.
What is your life motto or positive affirmation?
Success is always in your hands, you always have the choice to move towards it.
Have you ever had a disappointment or setback that ended up leading you to something wonderful?
Yes many times in fact more times than I can count, I think it’s all just part of the journey whether it’s having an idea that hasn’t worked or having something fall through, it isn’t always plain sailing but it always leads to something wonderful the other side, in fact, my first business not being something that lit me up and in the end led me to hating it actually resulted in me finding my feet in a business and field I adore.
