Megan Nolan megan@pivotpointbc.com.au w | www.pivotpointbc.com.au Who are you? Megan Nolan – Gold Coast, Qld, Australia – 1 Child (6 years old) Tell us about what you do and what inspired you to get started?  I own PivotPoint Business Consulting – I was inspired by seeing how many SME owners and their staff are not comfortable with the sales and service delivery process. As a parent how do you find calm in the chaos? To find calm, I have a dedicated home office that I work from and that everyone understands is an office and should be treated as such – to stay calm in the chaos I don’t apologise for closing my office door if I need to. As long as I work within my pre-set boundaries it works out. During the times when you feel overwhelmed or lacking in motivation, what helps you get back on track?  Having a dedicated space makes it easier to stay motivated. I set myself start times and leave my computer and phone on my desk when I go and eat lunch. While I don’t watch much television, I make a rule of never turning it on. During work hours, my home is an office. What do you do to relax and unwind?  To relax I like to have friends over with their kids for a swim and a bbq on the weekend or go for a family bike ride. My son and I help feed the homeless on Monday nights, it’s an amazing atmosphere that reminds us how lucky we are and keeps us grounded, and it’s a nice ‘Mummy and Me’ thing to do as well. What has been your greatest achievement to date?  My son is hands down my greatest achievement to date. Second to that is starting my own consultancy where I can direct my passion into inspiring other SME owners and their teams to make lasting changes in their daily activities to increase profits, boost morale and increase customer satisfaction. What is your life motto or positive affirmation? My life motto is that if you love what you do for a living, you will never work a day in your life….. Have you ever had a disappointment or setback that ended up leading you to something wonderful? In mid-2017 I lost a ten-year career thanks to a person who took their spite and hated of me way too far. This crucible moment forced me to take a look at the life I was living (travelling frequently, having my son in before and after school care, not being home until after bedtime). I have now established a life where I get to do all the fun Mum things as well as have a new career helping others in something that I am passionate about.
